Minister Lango Reaches Hanna-e-Aurak, Meets Tribal Elders

  1. QUETTA: Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Lango visited Hanna-e-Aurak and the airport on Monday following a deadly attack by armed men on local tribespeople in the area on Sunday.

The Home Minister held talks and discussions with tribal elders and participants of the protest, expressing grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of local tribal members. During his visit, Lango reiterated that the government stands with the oppressed and against the oppressor like a “leaden wall”.

“Those involved in this cowardly act cannot escape the grip of law,” Lango declared, ordering security forces to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.

According to officials, the confrontation resulted in the deaths of four local residents, while seven others sustained injuries. Residents staged a protest in the Shara-e-Band area of Quetta, blocking Airport Road to demand stronger security measures and immediate action against those responsible. Traffic remained disrupted as authorities continued efforts to manage the situation.

Personnel from the Frontier Corps Balochistan, police, and other security agencies have been deployed to the area, where an operation against the armed attackers is currently underway. The government has declared an emergency at all government hospitals to ensure timely medical treatment for the injured.

The Home Minister emphasized that the government stands firmly with the local tribes and is committed to ensuring justice for the victims and their families.
