Rain Brings Relief But Power Outage Plunges Sibi Into Darkness

NDMA Issues Fresh Weather Alert: Could Pre-Monsoon Rains Trigger Flash Floods and Glacier Hazards Across Northern Pakistan?

SIBI:  In a sudden turn of events, the city of Sibi, which had been reeling under intense heat for days, experienced a brief spell of rain on Sunday — offering much-needed relief to its residents. However, the joy was short-lived as the downpour caused all feeders of the city to trip, plunging the entire area into a complete blackout.

According to sources, the rain brought a significant drop in temperature, turning the weather pleasant after weeks of sweltering heat. But at the same time, the tripping of all feeders led to a suspension of power supply across the city, leaving citizens in the dark.

While residents breathed a sigh of relief as the heat subsided, they were soon faced with severe difficulties due to the prolonged power outage. Without electricity, households struggled to carry out daily activities, and businesses were also affected.

Local authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the restoration of power, though efforts are reportedly underway to resolve the technical faults. Citizens have urged the relevant departments to ensure a swift repair to prevent further inconvenience.
