Bugti Lauds Mengal’s Bravery in Repelling Terror Attack

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has strongly condemned the attack on the residence of tribal leader and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ticket holder Mir Shafiqur-ur-Rehman Mengal in Khuzdar, asserting that elements hostile to peace will never succeed in their designs.

In a statement posted on the social networking platform X on July 8, 2026, the Chief Minister lauded the resilience shown during the assault. “The bravery, courage and steadfastness with which Mir Shafiqur-ur-Rehman Mengal fought the terrorists is commendable and reflects the national resolve not to bow down to the terrorists,” Bugti stated.

The Chief Minister vowed that those responsible for the attack and their facilitators would be punished to the fullest extent of the law. He expressed determination that the people of Balochistan, tribal elders, political leadership, and security institutions are united against terrorism, and that all nefarious intentions of anti-peace elements will be thwarted at all costs.
