KARACHI: Gold prices surged sharply in Pakistan on Tuesday, mirroring gains in the international market, with the price of one tola climbing above Rs429,000 for the first time in the latest trading session.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs4,700 per tola to Rs429,236. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs4,029, reaching Rs368,000.
Silver prices also moved higher, with the price of one tola rising by Rs219 to Rs6,396.
In the international market, gold gained $47 to trade at $4,068 per ounce, supporting the upward trend in domestic prices.
Market analysts attributed the rally to persistent global economic uncertainty, stronger investor demand for safe-haven assets and rising international bullion demand, factors that continue to drive gold prices higher in Pakistan’s local market.
