BIRMINGHAM: England won the toss and elected to field first against Pakistan in the third and final Test at Edgbaston on Wednesday, with Pakistan handing Test debuts to three players.
The hosts decided to stick with the same playing XI that featured in the previous Test, while Pakistan made significant changes to their lineup, giving Imran Randhawa, Razaullah and Ghazi Ghori their first Test caps.
The match is a must-win encounter for Pakistan, who enter the Birmingham Test trailing 2-0 in the three-match series after suffering heavy defeats in the opening two matches.
England dominated the series opener at Headingley, securing an emphatic innings-and-103-run victory before completing another convincing win at Lord’s. The hosts won the second Test by 194 runs, taking an unassailable lead in the series.
Pakistan will now be looking to salvage some pride in the final Test, while England have the opportunity to complete a clean sweep.
