RAWALPINDI: An investiture ceremony to confer military awards on officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army was held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

Syed Asim Munir, Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff, attended the ceremony as chief guest and presented awards to the families of martyrs, officers and soldiers in recognition of gallantry in operations and distinguished service to the nation.

The honours included 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) awards and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat decorations. Families of fallen soldiers received posthumous awards on behalf of the martyrs.

Paying tribute to the martyrs and war veterans, the army chief said their sacrifices remained a source of pride for the nation and played a key role in ensuring Pakistan’s peace and security.

He also praised the resilience and commitment shown by the families of the martyrs and acknowledged their sacrifices for the country.

The field marshal commended the operational preparedness of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies and praised their continued efforts against terrorism.

He reaffirmed that operations against militant groups would continue with full national resolve until lasting peace and stability are restored across the country.
