Zimbabwe Register Biggest Test Win in History

Harare: Zimbabwe secured the biggest victory in their Test cricket history by defeating Bangladesh by an innings and 85 runs in the one-off Test at Harare Sports Club.

The hosts wrapped up the match on the third day after bowling Bangladesh out for 185 in their second innings, despite holding a first-innings lead of 270 runs.

Muzarabani starred with four wickets, while Ngarava claimed three. For Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 34 and Najmul Hossain Shanto made 30, but the visitors failed to avoid an innings defeat.

Earlier, Bangladesh were dismissed for just 140 in their first innings before Zimbabwe responded with 410, thanks to a superb 140-run knock from Innocent Kaia. Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam took seven wickets in Zimbabwe’s innings.

The victory marks Zimbabwe’s first-ever innings win in Test cricket and their largest margin of victory in the format.

The result comes just weeks after Bangladesh completed a 2-0 Test series whitewash over Pakistan on home soil.
