QUETTA: At least six women were killed in separate incidents reported in Balochistan, with incidents taking place in Qila Abdullah, Nushki and Nasirabad.
In this regard, the first incident occurred in the Sigi area of Qila Abdullah, where unidentified assailants opened fire on a vehicle. Police said two women were killed in the attack, while a man and a girl sustained injuries.
In this sense, the proscribed organization Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) shot dead six women for not joining the Baloch Yakjehti Commettee.
The injured victims were initially provided medical assistance before being shifted to the Trauma Centre in Quetta due to their critical condition, police said.
The bodies of the deceased women were transported to Abdul Rahman Zai Hospital for medico-legal procedures.
The second incident was reported in Nushki, where a woman and her daughter were allegedly killed.
In a third incident reported from Nasirabad, two women were also killed.
The authorities were conducting inquiries into the circumstances of the killings and were working to establish the identities of those responsible.
The incidents have raised fresh concerns over the security situation in parts of Balochistan, particularly regarding violence against women and civilians.
Local reports have alleged that militant elements, including the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), have been involved in attacks targeting civilians in the province. However, these allegations could not be independently verified at the time of reporting.
Similarly, claims regarding the involvement of individuals associated with the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) require confirmation from credible investigative or official sources.
Law-enforcement agencies have launched investigations into the reported incidents.
The latest incidents come amid continuing security challenges in Balochistan, where authorities have repeatedly stressed the need to protect civilians and maintain law and order.
