ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Saturday handed over keys of new vehicles to the Islamabad Police.
Mohsin Naqvi said the addition of new vehicles would help improve the police response time and enhance the efficiency of officers performing their duties across the capital.
He stressed that modern policing could not be achieved with outdated and non-functional vehicles. “Modern policing is impossible with unserviceable vehicles,” the interior minister said, underlining the need to provide police personnel with adequate resources and modern equipment.
In this regard, Naqvi said the provision of vehicles was part of broader efforts to strengthen Islamabad Police and improve public safety.
He maintained that better mobility would enable police teams to respond more effectively to incidents and perform their responsibilities in a timely manner.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said the government was also focusing on improving police infrastructure and human resources.
He announced that construction and development work at all police stations in the federal capital would be completed during the current year.
The initiative, he said, was intended to provide police personnel with improved working facilities and create a better environment for public service.
In this sense, Chaudhry further said that around 9,000 new personnel were being recruited into the police force. He emphasized that merit would be strictly observed throughout the recruitment process.
The minister said the recruitment drive would help address staffing requirements and strengthen the operational capabilities of the police force.
The government has repeatedly focused on the modernization of law-enforcement institutions, with improved mobility, infrastructure and recruitment being key components of efforts to enhance public security and police service delivery in Islamabad.
The handover of the vehicles marks another step toward equipping Islamabad Police with better resources and improving its ability to respond to emergencies and maintain law and order in the federal capital.
