QUETTA: Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Balochistan and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, has declared that religious seminaries (madrasas) serve as robust centers for the intellectual, moral, and ideological protection of the Muslim Ummah. He emphasized that madrasas have consistently played a pivotal role in the promotion of Islam, the safeguarding of Islamic values, and the religious and moral training of new generations throughout history.
Addressing a key meeting of dignitaries from JI Balochistan’s religious schools, held under his chairmanship in Quetta, Maulana Baloch urged the government to facilitate these institutions rather than create unnecessary obstacles. “The government should create facilities so that madrasas can continue their national and religious services with greater dignity,” he stated.

Participants engaged in a detailed discussion on the promotion of religious education in Balochistan, the Islamic and moral training of youth, problems faced by madrasas, educational reforms, da’wah (preaching) activities, and the role of seminaries in the current situation.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi described religious schools as a vital source of goodness, moderation, peace, and the promotion of Islamic consciousness in society. He noted that madrasas have historically contributed to the stability of the beloved homeland, the protection of its ideological borders, and the religious guidance of its people.
Highlighting the need to adapt to contemporary challenges, Maulana Hashmi stressed that the combination of religious and contemporary sciences is indispensable. “The combination of religious and contemporary sciences is indispensable to deal with the challenges of the present era, so that the young generation can better serve the country and the nation by adapting to modern requirements,” he said. He urged students and youth to pay special attention to contemporary sciences, technology, research, and positive intellectual training alongside religious education. He added that a talented and educated youth is the guarantee of Pakistan’s bright future, noting that the youth of Balochistan possess immense potential and that providing them with better educational opportunities, a stable environment, and guidance is the need of the hour.
During the meeting, madrasa administrators and dignitaries presented various suggestions and expressed their determination to make curricula and training activities in religious schools more effective in line with modern requirements.
