Trump's surprising claim about the Iranian military

The United States President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran’s military capabilities have been severely weakened, saying that “Iran’s army is finished,” while warning that the world is now waiting to see how Tehran responds amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

In this regard, Trump said that a response from Iran is expected soon, adding that diplomatic efforts are continuing to prevent a wider regional conflict. He stressed that ongoing discussions are aimed at avoiding further escalation and restoring stability in the region.

The US president also commented on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, stating that a three-day ceasefire has been announced. Trump expressed hope that the temporary truce could be extended into a longer and more permanent ceasefire agreement between both sides.

In this sense, the international community is closely watching developments in Eastern Europe, and he reasserted his desire to see a lasting peace settlement between Russia and Ukraine.

He added that extending the ceasefire could create an opportunity for broader diplomatic negotiations and reduce tensions that have affected global security and economic stability.

So far, Trump also referred to economic developments involving Pakistan, mentioning the approval of a 1.2 billion dollar loan tranche for Pakistan by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The financial assistance is expected to support Pakistan’s economy at a time of ongoing fiscal challenges and economic reforms.

Trump discussed political developments in Iraq, claiming that a prime minister supported by him had been elected. However, he did not provide further details regarding the political process or the nature of his support.

The president further announced that the United States is withdrawing additional troops from Germany and Poland as part of a broader review of American military deployments overseas.

Trump said the move indicates Washington’s changing strategic priorities and efforts to reassess its military presence in different regions.
