LONDON: Oil prices were reported to have risen as talks between United States and Iran remained stalled, traders said.
Diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the dispute have yet to yield results. Upward pressure on crude markets has been sustained as a result.
Brent crude rose by 45 cents, or 0.4%, to $108.68 a barrel. A gain of 2.8% had already been recorded in the previous session. This marked the seventh consecutive day of increases.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery rose by 58 cents, or 0.6%, to $96.96 a barrel. A rise of 2.1% had been recorded in the previous trading session.
The continued stalemate has been seen as a key factor supporting prices, amid concerns over potential supply disruptions.
