KARACHI: Mustafa Kamal, a senior leader of MQM-Pakistan and federal minister, has launched a scathing attack on MQM founder Altaf Hussain, declaring him a manipulative dramatist who orchestrated the assassination of senior party leader Dr. Imran Farooq and has been receiving funds from India’s RAW to fuel terrorism in Pakistan.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi alongside party colleagues, Kamal stated that the self-proclaimed founder of MQM created unnecessary drama around Farooq’s body repatriation, collecting millions of pounds in donations while being the actual perpetrator.
He claimed to possess concrete evidence of the murder and noted that Hussain posed for photographs during the funeral prayers, exploiting corpses for publicity.
Kamal alleged that Dr. Imran Farooq received a “gift of death” on Hussain’s birthday, with the killing timed deliberately as a present for the exiled leader.
He emphasized that Hussain, now a British citizen, should demand justice for Farooq in the UK if innocent.
Kamal further accused Hussain of taking money from RAW for over 25 years, using it to sponsor terrorism, which he said stalled the Scotland Yard probe into the murder due to Indian involvement.
The federal minister described Hussain as a man who has set the Muhajir community back by centuries, destroying Karachi and failing to repent despite repeated setbacks.
He portrayed Hussain as a criminal and traitor to the nation, capable of ordering killings at will and then publicly mourning them, having “devoured” countless lives over 40 years.
Kamal lamented the misfortune of the Muhajir nation for having such a leader, noting that many truths were previously veiled.
He recounted his own presence in London during Farooq’s funeral, where Hussain’s focus was merely on getting photographed.
Kamal criticized Hussain for never leveraging his influence for key reforms, like constitutional amendments for local government, while the community continues to suffer and beg for rights.
He called the Muhajir people deeply unfortunate, asserting that Hussain has ruined an entire generation.
