IDAHO : Two US military aircraft collided in mid-air during an air show in Idaho on Sunday, crashing to the ground and prompting an immediate lockdown of a nearby Air Force base.
According to US media reports, the two aircraft involved were EA-18G Growlers, a twin-seat electronic warfare jet used by the US Navy. The collision occurred approximately two miles from the Mountain Home Air Force Base, where the air show was taking place.
All four pilots—two aboard each aircraft—successfully made emergency ejections before the jets crashed. Rescue teams have arrived at the scene, and an investigation into the cause of the incident is currently underway.
Following the accident, Mountain Home Air Force Base was placed under lockdown, according to the reports. No further details on the condition of the pilots or potential ground casualties have been released at this time.
