LAHORE: A man shot dead his wife and three members of her family in Lahore’s Chuhng area on Tuesday before killing himself, police said.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Imran Shaukat, had forcibly married Samia Bibi six months ago. The couple had been living separately, with Samia staying at her parents’ home.
Police said Shaukat arrived at his in-laws’ house in the morning to take his wife with him and opened fire, killing Samia.
When her family members attempted to resist, the suspect allegedly shot and killed her father, Ali Khan; her mother, Shamaila; and 21-year-old Zeeshan, police said.
After the shooting, Shaukat turned the gun on himself and died by suicide.

Police reached the scene after being alerted and shifted the bodies to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
Authorities said further investigation into the incident was underway.
