QUETTA: Security forces killed nine India-sponsored terrorists in separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan, security sources said on Tuesday, as Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 continued across the province.
Security forces launched an IBO in a mountainous area between Ziarat and Harnai after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists.
The forces surrounded a terrorist hideout and launched an assault. They killed eight terrorists and destroyed the hideout, the sources said.
In a separate operation in Hajika village of Surab district, security forces killed another terrorist.
The forces established a cordon between Dasht-Katai and Hajika after tracking the movement of the terrorists, according to the sources.
Security personnel recovered ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, a walkie-talkie, a motorcycle and other equipment from the killed terrorists.
The security forces said they would continue operations in Balochistan until terrorist networks are eliminated and lasting peace is restored.
A day earlier, security forces killed two terrorists and wounded three others in an IBO in Killi Zaik.
The operation followed intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists between Killi Zaik and Kaghli, about 12 kilometres north of the Baseema camp.
An exchange of fire broke out between the security forces and the terrorists. Two terrorists were killed and three others were wounded, the sources said.
Radd-ul-Fitna 3 Balochistan Operation
Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 is part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign against India-sponsored terrorists of the Baloch Liberation Army and TTP networks in Balochistan.
The Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 was laucnhed ealrie this month in response to a series of terrorist attacks by the Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khawarij
The operation, involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, police, intelligence agencies, and military helicopters, is primarily targeting the TTP, also known as Fitna al Khawarij and BLA (Fitna al Hindustan), a separatist group designated as a terrorist organisation by Pakistan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Security forces launched Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 last month in response to a series of terrorist attacks.
The campaign involves intelligence-based operations and targeted raids across Balochistan.
