QUETTA: The seven terrorists were killed and several others were injured during a successful intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces in Kharan district of Balochistan.
The operation was carried out in the Lajay area of Kharan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 following intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The security forces launched the operation after receiving information about the suspected militants’ hideouts.
In this regard, seven terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during the operation, while several others sustained injuries.
The forces also destroyed the terrorists’ hideouts during the action.
The substantial quantity of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment was recovered from the militants’ positions, the sources said. Two vehicles and a motorcycle were also seized during the operation. They were also reportedly planning suicide attacks in the area.
The operation is part of the ongoing security campaign under Radd-ul-Fitna 3 aimed at eliminating terrorist networks and preventing militant activities in Balochistan.
Security officials said the forces would continue pursuing terrorists and their facilitators until the threat is eliminated.
They added that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure the security and safety of local communities.
The latest operation comes amid continued efforts by security forces to disrupt militant networks operating in different parts of Balochistan.
Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for conducting the successful operation and eliminating seven terrorists.
Naqvi commended the professional capabilities and courage of the security personnel engaged in the fight against terrorism. He said the personnel confronting terrorism were a source of pride for the nation.
The minister reasserted the government’s resolve to support security forces in their efforts to counter terrorism and maintain peace and stability across the country.
