Tantrik Arrested in India Over Kidnapping, Rape and Murder

NASHIK, INDIA: Indian police have arrested a woman, her son, and a self-proclaimed tantrik in connection with the alleged kidnapping, rape, and murder of a 22-year-old woman in Maharashtra’s Nashik district.

According to local media reports, the victim, identified as Archana, was allegedly abducted by a woman named Rukmini, who wanted to force her into marrying her son, Raja.

The victim was reportedly held captive in a room at the family’s home.

Police said Rukmini later sought the help of a fake tantrik, believing he could persuade the young woman to agree to the marriage through occult rituals.

The suspect allegedly staged a fake ceremony involving a snake and falsely claimed that a ritual required physical relations to be completed.

He then allegedly sexually assaulted the victim under the guise of performing the ritual.

Investigators further allege that when Archana continued to refuse the marriage proposal, Rukmini and her son strangled her to death in an attempt to avoid being exposed.

Police have arrested all three suspects on charges including kidnapping, rape and murder.

The case remains under investigation.
