JIWANI: Security forces effectively foiled a major joint terrorist and smuggler attack on a key anti-smuggling checkpost in the Panwan area of Jiwani, killing four terrorists, while two security personnel embraced martyrdom during the intense exchange of fire.
The targeted post was strategically established on a crucial route to curb illegal smuggling operations in the region.
Due to its highly effective role, the post had inflicted severe financial losses on the nexus of the terrorist outfit ‘Fitna al-Hindustan’ and local smuggling networks.
In a desperate attempt to neutralize this obstacle, armed elements from both entities launched a coordinated firing assault on the post.
However, the alert and vigilant security personnel stationed at the post timely retaliated and successfully repelled the attack.
According to initial reports from officials, four attackers were eliminated on the spot during the swift counter-action.
Tragically, two brave soldiers of the security forces laid down their lives in the line of duty, embracing martyrdom due to the attackers’ indiscriminate firing.
Following the incident, a heavy contingent of security forces immediately arrived at the scene, cordoning off the entire area to hunt down any escaping miscreants.
A large-scale clearance operation is currently underway in the vicinity.
