NOWSHERA: The seven-year-old boy was found murdered in the Mera Jalozai area of Nowshera, where unidentified assailants allegedly killed the child with a sharp-edged weapon before abandoning his body in nearby fields.
In this regard, Police have registered a case and launched an investigation, while the District Police Officer (DPO) has taken immediate notice of the incident.
In this regard, the complaint was lodged by the victim’s uncle, Zakir Khan, a resident of Mohmand Abad, Mera Jalozai. He informed police that his seven-year-old nephew, Shehzad, son of Aminullah, had left home in the morning but did not return by the afternoon. Concerned family members began searching for the child after he remained missing for several hours.
The search ended tragically when the child’s body was discovered in agricultural fields belonging to a local resident, identified as Haji Aslam Khan, in Mohmand Abad, Mera Jalozai.
According to the police report, unknown suspect or suspects allegedly attacked the child with a sharp-edged weapon, inflicting fatal injuries to his throat and neck before abandoning the body in the fields and fleeing the scene.
The complainant stated that the family has no known personal enmity or dispute with anyone that could explain the motive behind the killing. Police have not yet disclosed any possible motive and are investigating the case from multiple angles.
A spokesperson for the Nowshera Police confirmed that District Police Officer Sonia Shamroz took immediate notice of the gruesome incident and directed investigators to expedite the inquiry.
The DPO ordered a forensic team to collect evidence from the crime scene and instructed investigators to employ all available resources to identify and arrest those responsible. Police officials said forensic evidence and other investigative leads are being examined to help determine the circumstances surrounding the murder.
Meanwhile, formal case has been registered against unidentified suspects, and police have expanded the scope of the investigation. Authorities have assured the victim’s family that every effort will be made to trace those involved and bring them to justice.
