President Trump calls national security meeting today, will consider restarting war against Iran

WASHINGTON: The United States President Donald Trump has called a high-level national security meeting amid reports that the United States is considering renewed measures against Iran, according to American media outlets.

In this regard, several senior US officials are likely to attend the meeting, including Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine.

In this sense, a news agency, citing two unnamed officials, claimed that President Trump appears inclined toward considering limited military measures aimed at increasing diplomatic and strategic pressure on Iran.

The reported objective is to push Tehran toward offering concessions regarding its nuclear activities. However, no official confirmation has yet been issued by the White House regarding any final decision.

President Trump had earlier indicated that the current ceasefire situation remained fragile, describing it as being “on life support.”

He also stated in recent remarks that only the United States and China possess the technical capability to recover Iran’s nuclear particles, emphasizing the advanced expertise required for such an operation.

The latest developments come at a time of heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, with international observers closely monitoring diplomatic and military signals from both sides.
