Two Pakistani Astronauts Selected for China Space Station Mission

SUPARCO has made significant progress in its human spaceflight program.

Two astronaut candidates, Khurram Daud and Muhammad Zeeshan Ali, have been selected and are heading to China for advanced training and experiments.

This development marks an important milestone in Pakistan’s space exploration journey, placing the country among a limited group actively participating in human space missions.

Pakistan is preparing for its first participation in the China Space Station mission, expected by the end of 2026.

During the mission, a Pakistani astronaut will serve as a payload expert aboard the Shenzhou mission and conduct multiple scientific experiments in microgravity at the China Space Station.

These experiments will focus on key fields such as material science, fluid physics, life and biological sciences, and biotechnology.

The research is expected to contribute to environmental change solutions, food security, and industrial innovation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised SUPARCO’s progress in advancing space research and highlighted the strong and enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.

He added that Pakistan’s inclusion in human space missions reflects the close cooperation between the two countries.
