Pakistan Finalizes 17-Member Test Squad

Lahore: Pakistan’s 17-member Test squad for the upcoming tours of the West Indies and England has been finalized, with an official announcement expected shortly.

According to media reports, the selection committee has recommended several major changes to the lineup.

High-profile fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, spinner Noman Ali, and pacer Hasan Ali are likely to be dropped from the squad.

In line with a policy to groom young talent, uncapped players Ali Usman, Awais Zafar, and Ubaid Shah are expected to earn their maiden Test call-ups.

Meanwhile, the inclusion of wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and middle-order batter Saud Shakeel hinges entirely on their fitness, with a final decision to be made after they receive medical clearance.

Pakistan’s tour kicks off with a two-match Test series against the West Indies starting on July 25, followed by a Test series against England.
