DHAKA: In a monumental achievement, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 104 runs in the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, marking their first-ever Test victory against Pakistan on home soil. The victory was sealed on the final day after a dramatic batting collapse from Pakistan in the final session.

Bangladesh set a target of 268 runs for Pakistan after declaring their second innings at 240/9. Pakistan, in pursuit of the target, was bowled out for 163 runs.
