Two PAF Pilots Martyred in Training Aircraft Crash in Mardan

MARDAN: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) training aircraft crashed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mardan district on Monday, martyring both pilots on board and injuring two civilians, officials said.

The aircraft went down near Jabar Canal on Katlang Road in the Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during a training flight.

According to local authorities, the two pilots were killed in the crash. Two civilians sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Officials said the pilots steered the aircraft away from a populated area before it crashed onto a road, helping prevent greater loss of life on the ground.

The Pakistan Air Force has not yet released details on the cause of the crash. An investigation is expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The crash drew tributes on social media, where many praised the pilots for their actions in diverting the aircraft away from residential areas.
