HOFUF: Nine people, including a father, mother and their five children, were killed in a devastating Al Ahsa crash after two vehicles collided on a major road in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, according to traffic authorities.
The accident occurred on the Al Uqair-Al Uyun road in Al Ahsa governorate, where the two vehicles sustained extensive damage in the collision.
Al Ahsa Crash Claims Lives of Seven Family Members
Seven members of the same family travelling in one of the vehicles were killed in the Al Ahsa crash. The victims included the father and mother, three sons and two daughters.
Two young men travelling in the second vehicle also died in the collision, bringing the total number of fatalities to nine.
The Eastern Province Traffic Department said its teams responded promptly to the scene. Preliminary findings indicated that a sudden swerve may have contributed to the crash, while the relevant legal procedures were being completed.
Civil Defence and Saudi Red Crescent teams were also dispatched to the scene. Rescue personnel worked to free victims who were trapped inside the wreckage.
Authorities confirmed that all nine people involved in the collision died.
