ISLAMABAD: A senior Pakistani security official said during a media briefing with media influencers that India is pursuing a campaign to destabilise Pakistan and the region.
The official said New Delhi is attempting to divert attention from its domestic challenges by fueling instability, particularly in Pakistan.
The briefing focused on regional security, India-Pakistan relations and the ideological direction of the Indian state, the sources said.
According to the official, India’s leadership is unwilling to accept “ground realities” and has developed a tendency to project itself as a major power despite facing serious internal problems.
The official described India as a state increasingly shaped by the Hindu nationalist ideology of Hindutva, arguing that rising religious intolerance and extremism have weakened its democratic and secular character.
He said the concept of Akhand Bharat reflects India’s expansionist ambitions and accused the country’s military of becoming aligned with the ruling party’s religious and political agenda.
The official further claimed that India’s image as a rising global power is undermined by deep social divisions, restrictions on freedom of expression and tight state control over the media.
According to the sources, the official warned that growing polarization and discrimination against religious minorities could lead to severe internal unrest. He alleged that Muslims and other minority communities face increasing pressure and discrimination under the current political climate.
The official also criticized India’s administration of Indian-administered Kashmir, alleging that the region remains heavily militarized and that residents continue to live under extensive security restrictions.
He accused India of staging “false flag” incidents and blaming Pakistan in an effort to divert international attention from internal separatist movements and domestic challenges.
The official said India views a stable, prosperous and moderate Pakistan as a strategic challenge. He alleged that Indian political leaders and media outlets consistently promote narratives against Pakistan and its armed forces.

The briefing also alleged that the banned Joint Awami Action Committee was advancing an Indian agenda, although no evidence was publicly presented to support the claim.
Concluding the briefing, the official said Pakistan and its people would not be intimidated by India and would continue to defend the country’s sovereignty and national interests.
