Balochistan Bus Crash: 16 Killed, 20 Injured After Passenger Bus Plunges into Ravine in Sherani

ISLAMABAD: At least 24 people were killed and 20 others injured after a passenger bus plunged into a deep ravine in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province on Friday, local authorities said.

The accident occurred in the Dhana Sar- lies about 35 km from Zhob and 130 km from Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,- area of Sherani district.

Sherani Deputy Commissioner Khazrat Wali Kakar said the dead included women and children.

Rescue teams and ambulances rushed to the scene soon after the crash.

Emergency workers launched rescue operations and continued efforts to recover the injured from the wreckage.

Authorities shifted the injured to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving medical treatment.

The district administration said it is closely monitoring the situation as rescue and relief operations continue.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
