CHAMAN : Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan, Major General Atif Mujtaba, accompanied by Brigadier Shakeel Ahmed, held a significant meeting with national and tribal elders from Chaman, Toba Achakzai, and surrounding areas to address pressing public concerns related to the Pak-Afghan border.
The meeting, conducted in a cordial atmosphere, focused on issues including cross-border movement, the Laghuri package, patient facilities, and the overall situation in border regions. Tribal elders candidly shared the challenges faced by local residents, highlighting the social, economic, commercial, and family ties that connect border communities, while expressing concern over difficulties arising from current procedures.
Discussions centered on facilitating the movement of passengers at the Pak-Afghan border, with special emphasis on providing dedicated facilities for senior citizens, women, children, and patients. The elders stressed the need for rapid border movement in emergency medical cases and called for relief measures for the Laghuri community.
Tribal leaders demanded that border movement be eased in consideration of employment, trade, and family connections of Chaman’s residents. They also urged effective implementation of the Laghuri package to address the economic hardships faced by the local population.
Major General Atif Mujtaba listened attentively to the suggestions and concerns raised by the tribal leaders and assured that all possible steps would be taken to provide maximum relief to the people of Chaman, Toba Achakzai, and other border areas. He emphasized that consultations with relevant institutions would continue to reduce difficulties for patients, passengers, and local residents, while efforts would be made to extend all possible facilities to the Laghuri community.
The IG FC Balochistan reaffirmed that communication and consultation with national and tribal leaders would persist to ensure timely solutions to public problems.
Prominent attendees included Qari Muhammad Aslam, Haji Aminullah Khan Noorzai, Malik Haji Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Haji Imran Kakar, Haji Ghaffar Khan Muhammad Ali Achakzai, and other tribal and national leaders.
IT Center Inaugurated at Government Girls Degree College
Separately, Major General Atif Mujtaba inaugurated a new IT Center at Government Girls Degree College in Chaman. The ceremony was attended by college administration, faculty, students, and relevant authorities.
The center aims to provide students with modern information technology education, computer training, and digital skills to prepare them for future demands. Attendees hailed the initiative as a significant step toward enhancing educational facilities in Chaman and expressed hope that similar projects for youth, particularly female students, would continue in the future
