LONDON: England secured the ODI series 2-1 after defeating India by 27 runs in the final match.
Batting first, England set a massive target of 388, their highest-ever ODI score against India, powered by Ben Duckett’s 141, Jacob Bethell’s 91, and an unbeaten 74 from Joe Root.
In response, India fought valiantly with half-centuries from Rohit Sharma (138), Shubman Gill (77), and Virat Kohli (74), but ultimately fell short, finishing at 360-7.
Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers for England, claiming four wickets.
Although India won the opening match, England bounced back to win the next two encounters.
This series victory follows England’s dominant 4-0 sweep in the preceding T20 series.
