PIMS Hospital Tragedy: Maternity Admissions Halted

ISLAMABAD : The federal government has announced a financial compensation of Rs 5 million for the families of each child who lost their lives in the tragic fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital nursery.

 

In an official announcement, the government expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating that it shares the grief and pain of the affected families. The announcement emphasized that while no amount of money can substitute for human life, the compensation is an attempt to ease the hardships faced by the grieving families during this difficult time.

 

The government also assured that all possible support and assistance would be provided to the affected families, pledging continued relief efforts.

 

According to details, at least 14 newborn babies perished in the devastating fire that broke out in the nursery of PIMS Hospital yesterday. One child was successfully rescued and is currently receiving medical care.

 

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, which has sent shockwaves across the country.
