Gold Prices in Pakistan Experience A Notable Decline

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan registered a downward trend today, following fresh cues from the international bullion market.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the domestic price of per tola precious metal decreased by Rs. 2,700, bringing the new gold prices in Pakistan down to Rs. 457,536.

Market analysts note that local bullion rates closely mirror international fluctuations, where economic adjustments frequently impact trading figures.

Concurrently, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat metal saw a decline of Rs. 2,315, settling at Rs. 392,263 compared to previous rates.

On the global front, international market rates dropped by $27, establishing the new international rate at $4,350 per ounce.

Jewellers and market experts continue to monitor these shifts closely as investors evaluate ongoing trends affecting gold prices in Pakistan.

Gold Prices in Pakistan Over the Past Two Years

Reflecting on the broader macroeconomic trajectory over the past two years, gold prices in Pakistan have experienced an extraordinary, multi-faceted structural surge that has reshaped domestic investment patterns.

Driven by persistent domestic inflationary pressures, currency depreciation against major foreign reserves, and heightened global geopolitical and economic uncertainties, bullion transformed from a traditional cultural commodity into one of the country’s most dominant and fiercely sought-after financial safeguard instruments.

Throughout 2024 and 2025, both retail participants and institutional investors aggressively turned toward the precious metal to aggressively hedge against purchasing power erosion and severe currency fluctuations, rapidly propelling domestic market valuations to unprecedented historic milestones.

While routine daily and weekly market corrections—such as the latest downward adjustment recorded by trade associations—frequently temper immediate speculative sentiment, the extended multi-year perspective underscores a massive overall valuation appreciation.

Financial analysts emphasize that despite intermittent profit-taking, seasonal demand lulls, and temporary downward dips, the broader two-year trajectory of gold prices in Pakistan remains firmly anchored on a powerful upward macro trend.
