Gold and Silver Prices Surge Sharply After a Two-Day Pause

KARACHI: Following a two-day stability period, gold and silver prices recorded a massive increase on the opening day of the business week.

In the international bullion market on Monday, the price of gold surged by $46, reaching $4,554 per ounce.

Influenced by the global market, local bullion markets also witnessed a sharp spike.

The price of 24-karat gold per tola jumped by Rs. 4,600, settling at Rs. 477,762. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs. 3,943 to reach Rs. 409,603.

Meanwhile, the silver market followed a similar upward trend.

Internationally, the price of silver increased by $2.36 to settle at $77.86 per ounce.

In the local market, this drove the price of silver up by Rs. 236 per tola to reach Rs. 8,270, while the price of 10 grams of silver increased by Rs. 203, closing at Rs. 7,090.
