ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, met Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf in Tehran on Thursday, officials said.
Munir, who arrived in the Iranian capital a day earlier, is leading a high-level delegation as Islamabad intensifies efforts to revive stalled talks between the United States and Iran.
Qalibaf had earlier led the Iranian delegation during talks held in Islamabad this month.
The April 11 negotiations marked the highest-level direct engagement between U.S. and Iranian officials in more than a decade. The talks brought together US Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, along with senior officials.
The discussions lasted more than 20 hours but ended without an agreement, as both sides remained divided on key issues.
