FIA arrests three NADRA officers for issuing fake passports

ISLAMABAD : The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has decided to establish a dedicated Financial Action Task Force (FATF) desk across the country, with official orders issued in this regard, sources said on Sunday.

Director General (DG) FIA has issued a directive to all Additional Directors General and Zonal Directors to set up the FATF desk without delay.

According to the FIA, the desk will collect details of actions taken by Pakistan on six different FATF tasks. The compiled information will be presented during the upcoming FATF mutual evaluation, likely to take place in the last quarter of this year.

The DG’s orders instruct all wings and zones to ensure full implementation of FATF-related tasks. A designated focal person has been directed to enforce the orders within seven days and submit a compliance report to the DG.

A proforma based on seven Terms of Reference (TORs) for the FATF desk has also been attached with the orders.

The FIA further stated that the tasks assigned by the FATF are mandatory not only for the FIA but also for other law enforcement agencies across the country.
