CHARSADDA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted a raid at the NADRA centre in Charsadda and arrested four officials, including the office in-charge, for their alleged involvement in illegally issuing National Identity Cards (CNICs) to foreigners and Afghan nationals.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Assistant Director (Office In-charge) Waqar Ahmed, along with Attaullah Jan, Ahmed Raza, and Sajjad Ali.
According to FIA officials, important documentary evidence and other objectionable materials were recovered from the scene during the raid. A case has been registered against the suspects, and an investigation has been launched.
The FIA further revealed that the arrested suspect Waqar Ahmed is already under investigation in several other cases and inquiries. Raids are currently underway at various locations to apprehend other facilitators and co-accused involved in the network.
FIA officials stated that indiscriminate action will continue against those found misusing the National Identity System. According to authorities, the suspects offered resistance during their detention, and weapons were also recovered from their possession.
