Gilgit-Baltistan Heads to Polls Today: 958,000 Voters to Choose Next CM

GILGIT : The fate of the next ruler of Gilgit-Baltistan will be sealed today as polling for the general elections gets underway across the region, with over 958,480 voters set to exercise their right to franchise.

 

Voting will be held from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Election Commission has completed the delivery of staff and polling equipment to all polling stations.

 

According to the Election Commission, a total of 1,391 polling stations have been established across all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan. Among these, 349 polling stations have been declared sensitive and 551 highly sensitive.

 

A total of 403 candidates are in the fray for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. This includes 396 male candidates and 8 female contestants.
