QUETTA: Negligence by the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) and the local police led to the theft of electricity cables from over a dozen power poles within the jurisdiction of the Malik Muhammad Ali police station in Sohbatpur.
Thieves removed 11,000 kV cables from the poles of the Khairpur feeder, immediately cutting off the electricity supply to the area.
Instead of resolving the issue, the departments are blaming each other; police officials claim QESCO authorities deliberately shut off the power, while QESCO points to the lack of police patrolling in the area.
Meanwhile, consumers are left suffering under intense heat due to the prolonged power outage.
