Develop Balochistan’s Mines to Create Jobs, Says Nosherwani

QUETTA : Balochistan Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Noshirwani stated that if work had been carried out on the province’s mines, people would have gained employment opportunities. He made these remarks while speaking to the media in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan.

The Finance Minister announced that the Balochistan budget will be presented after the federal budget. He emphasized that the education and health departments will be given higher priority in the upcoming budget. He also confirmed that the non-development budget for the year 2025-26 has been fully released, and that the Chief Minister of Balochistan is personally reviewing every scheme.

Regarding fiscal matters, Mir Shoaib Noshirwani said that Balochistan has its own position concerning the National Finance Commission (NFC) award. He noted that there is no industry in the province, adding that even cement and Syria (likely a reference to cement or other materials) come from other provinces.

The Finance Minister expressed his desire to include area as an indicator in resource distribution. He explained that the work of the Mineral Investment Facilitation Authority is to facilitate mineral mines. He pointed out that there are several mines that were allotted and later abandoned. “If work had been done on these mines, people would have had employment opportunities,” he said.

Mir Shoaib Noshirwani expressed gratitude to government employees for their patience considering the country’s economic situation. “We have to put our province on its feet,” he declared. He further revealed that the Chairman of the Public Private Partnership Board is the Chief Minister of Balochistan himself, and that Balochistan will have its own insurance company.
