QUETTA: The man was killed and a woman sustained critical injuries after the Baloch liberation Army (BLA) opened fire on a family’s vehicle in the Dasht area of Quetta.
The family was travelling from Karachi to Quetta when they lost their way after following directions provided by Google Maps. In this regard, the sources said the vehicle mistakenly entered the Khand area of Dasht, where it came under gunfire from unidentified armed individuals.
The head of the family died at the scene, while a woman travelling with the family suffered serious injuries. Two young children who were also inside the vehicle remained unharmed during the incident.
The injured woman was shifted to a nearby hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment. In this sense, the attackers were linked to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
The incident has once again raised concerns over the security situation on remote routes in Balochistan, particularly in areas where travellers may inadvertently enter unfamiliar roads.
Moreover, the officials have frequently advised motorists travelling through remote regions to remain cautious, use updated navigation information, and seek guidance from local authorities whenever possible.
