ISLAMABAD: A video circulating on social media shows the flag of the internationally designated terrorist group the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) flying over the grave of Abdul Ghaffar Langove, the father of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) chief organizer Mahrang Langove.
Abdul Ghaffar Langove was previously associated with militancy. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in a terrorism case. The conviction was later overturned after he was acquitted due to weak prosecution in Balochistan.
According to reports, Abdul Ghaffar Langove was killed by militants linked to the banned BLA following internal disputes within the group. At the time, however, the BYC claimed that he had been killed by state institutions.
The BLA has been blamed for numerous militant attacks and the killing of civilians in Pakistan. The appearance of the group’s flag on Abdul Ghaffar Langove’s grave has raised fresh questions about the BYC’s assertion that it operates as a peaceful human rights organisation.

The report said extremist elements have been using the BYC as a soft front to shape public opinion at home and abroad. It said the objective has been to generate sympathy and create political space for militant activities.
