Balochistan Poised to Unveil Rs 1,100 Billion Budget

Salaries and Pension Hikes Expected in Budget

QUETTA: The Balochistan government’s budget for the next fiscal year is expected to exceed Rs 1,100 billion, with special priority set to be given to education, health, law and order, and public welfare sectors, according to sources within the provincial finance department.

Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Noshirwani will present the budget for the upcoming fiscal year in the Balochistan Assembly. Sources confirmed that plans are being made to keep the budget in surplus.

The highest allocation is proposed for the education sector, which is likely to receive more than Rs 150 billion. Similarly, significant funds will also be allocated for health, basic public services, and the law and order sector.

A proposal to increase the salaries and allowances of government employees on the lines of the federal government is also under consideration, sources said. However, a final decision will be taken at the time of budget approval.

Special attention will be paid to development projects, public welfare, human development, education, health, and infrastructure improvement in the upcoming budget, so that the development process in the province can be further accelerated.

The budget preparation process has entered its final stages, and financial proposals for various sectors are being finalized.
