QUETTA: The Balochistan government has become the first province in Pakistan to launch a registration platform for digital media outlets, aiming to improve professional standards and strengthen cooperation with online media organisations and content creators.
The initiative digital media registration platform forms part of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti’s “Digital Balochistan Vision,” according to an official statement.
The government introduced the platform under the supervision of Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan and Director General of the Directorate General of Public Relations (DGPR).
Officials said the platform will bring digital publishers and social media influencers into a formal registration system to improve institutional engagement and credibility. The platform aimed to strengthen transparency, improve professional standards and expand cooperation with online media organizations and content creators.
Registered participants will become eligible to take part in government advertising and public awareness campaigns, the statement said.
The government said the platform will also encourage responsible digital journalism and provide greater opportunities to highlight Balochistan’s development projects, public services and other official initiatives.
