AJK Law & Order: 4 Personnel Martyred, 425 Arrested

MUZAFARABAD: press release detailing the recent law and order situation.

According to the official document, violent activities by the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) have resulted in the martyrdom of 4 law enforcement personnel—including a Sub-Inspector (SI)—and left 89 others injured.

The handout states that miscreants targeted CMH Rawalakot, resorting to vandalism and violence against patients.

Furthermore, direct firing was opened on an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), leaving nearly 30 bullet marks on the vehicle.

A deployment of law enforcement forces remains active in Rawalakot to contain these elements and maintain public safety.

In a targeted crackdown between June 6, 2026, and June 14, 2026, the AJK Police registered 81 cases and arrested 425 miscreants linked to the banned outfit.

Authorities recovered 15 automatic weapons along with ammunition, iron rods, walkie-talkie sets, and sensitive equipment/documents from the apprehended individuals.

Additionally, the process to include over 400 active members and workers of the banned JAAC in the 4th Schedule has been initiated.

The spokesperson emphasized that due to the strategic measures taken by the police and law enforcement agencies, the overall law and order situation across Azad Kashmir is satisfactory.

Inter-district traffic is flowing normally, and all entry points to the region remain completely open and operational.

The AJK Police has appealed to the public to remain peaceful, reject rumors, and cooperate with law enforcement.

Citizens are advised to stay away from sensitive locations and unlawful gatherings, and to immediately report any suspicious activities, armed individuals, or agitation to the nearest police station or district administration.
