ISALAMABAD: India’s growing war hysteria has sparked large-scale mock drills across the country, with over 300 fighter jets deployed near the Pakistan border.
Indian media is issuing threats under the Cold Start Doctrine, fueling tensions further. Meanwhile, Pakistan has elevated its alert level and is actively preparing both diplomatically and militarily.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif warned that a clash with India is now inevitable and could erupt at any moment.
He emphasized that any attempt to occupy Pakistani territory would be a costly mistake and that Pakistan would destroy any infrastructure India builds to block its water.
Tensions surged after India blamed Pakistan for the Pahalgam incident, adopting a hostile stance and issuing military threats. Pakistan has firmly rejected these allegations and offered an international investigation, which India declined.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has heightened its defence preparedness in response to India’s escalating war rhetoric.
Over 300 Indian fighter jets have reportedly been stationed near Pakistan’s eastern border airbases.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the ISI headquarters, where he was given a detailed briefing on the prevailing security scenario.
The briefing focused on India’s increasingly aggressive and provocative posture along the eastern border, and the country’s preparedness to address both conventional threats and hybrid warfare, including proxy terrorism.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Defence Minister, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and the chiefs of the armed services.
During the visit, Pakistan’s leadership reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to defend the nation against all forms of threats—conventional or otherwise—and assured that the entire nation stands united behind its armed forces.
