ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly refuted India’s accusations linking Pakistan to the recent deadly attack in Pahalgam, asserting that Pakistan has no connection to the incident.
Calling the allegations “baseless and politically motivated,” the Prime Minister emphasized the need for an independent, transparent, and credible international investigation into the attack.
The statement came during a meeting in Islamabad with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates.
Prime Minister Sharif briefed the envoy on the regional situation following the Pahalgam incident and expressed concern over rising tensions in South Asia.
He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability while urging friendly nations, including the UAE, to play a proactive role in persuading India to de-escalate the situation.
“Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. We are ourselves the biggest victims of terrorism and have consistently fought against it—particularly threats originating from our western borders,” the Prime Minister stated.

He further warned that India’s aggressive rhetoric and hostile actions appear to be designed to distract the international community from its own internal challenges and to undermine Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts.
During the meeting, the UAE Ambassador expressed his country’s support for regional peace and affirmed that the UAE would continue to collaborate with Pakistan for the sake of regional stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his gratitude to the UAE for its unwavering support and reiterated that Pakistan will continue to engage diplomatically with friendly nations to present its position on the crisis and to advocate for peace in the region.
This diplomatic engagement highlights Islamabad’s strategy of countering New Delhi’s narrative through international outreach while reaffirming its call for a fair and impartial investigation into the Pahalgam attack.
