GULISTAN: The family travelling through the Sigi area of Tehsil Gulistan was targeted by Fitna Al Hindustan (FAH) dogs after refusing to cooperate with a local network, resulting in the deaths of two young girls and injuries to their parents and another minor child.
The incident took place last night when the family was passing through Sigi in a vehicle. The family was said to have links to Karachi and Islamabad.
In this regard, the family had allegedly been facing pressure from members of a local militant network for some time to provide logistical assistance and cooperate with activities associated with the organisation.
The family reportedly refused to participate in any illegal or militant-related activities.
In this sense, the family subsequently received threats of serious consequences for refusing to comply with the alleged demands.
The family was stopped while travelling through the area by individuals allegedly linked to the militant network.
The attackers were said to have approached the vehicle while posing as shopkeepers before an argument and exchange of threats reportedly took place.
The family sensed danger and attempted to drive away, armed men allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the vehicle from multiple directions.
The intense firing resulted in two girls inside the vehicle sustaining fatal injuries. The injured family members were reportedly shifted for medical treatment, with their condition described as critical.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over the alleged use of intimidation and violence against civilians who refuse to cooperate with militant networks operating in parts of Balochistan.
The reported targeting of women and children has also intensified concerns about the humanitarian consequences of militant violence and the vulnerability of families caught between security threats and coercive networks.
The incident comes amid continuing security challenges in Balochistan, where militant groups have repeatedly been accused of targeting civilians, security personnel and infrastructure.
