Islamabad — Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has indicated that the United States and Iran are nearing a peace agreement, citing positive signals emerging in recent days.
In an interview with Bloomberg News on August 11, Asif said the prospects of some form of understanding or accord between the two countries have increased. He noted that indications received over the past two to three days suggest the two sides have moved closer to a peace arrangement or deal.
“The indications received during the last two to three days indicate that the two countries have come close to a peace agreement or deal,” Asif said. He added that the situation once again appears to be shaping up in favor of a peace agreement .
The defense minister further emphasized that a lasting peace would serve the interests of the region . His remarks come amid ongoing international attention on US-Iran relations and efforts to de-escalate tensions.
