DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The suspected vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) attack has targeted the Aman Mela Police Checkpoint in Darazinda tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The attack comes amid continued security concerns in Dera Ismail Khan and adjoining areas, where police and security installations have repeatedly come under attack.
In this regard, the previous incidents have also been reported around Darazinda, mentioning the persistent security challenge facing the region.
Initial, unverified reports suggest that the suspected attack may have caused civilian casualties. However, the exact number of deaths or injuries has not yet been independently confirmed, and further information from police, district administration or other official authorities is awaited.
It indicates that the how the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf and its government in the KPK have the priorities. Their whole leadership has kept an eye on how they organize the Long March.
The reported incident has once again raised concerns about security arrangements around police checkpoints and populated areas of Dera Ismail Khan.
