QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti suspended SP Ziarat and formed a high-level inquiry committee following the terrorist attack on Mangi Dam.
According to a Home Department notification, the CMIT chairman will head the committee, which includes the Secretary S&GAD, Senior DIG Police, and IB representatives. The body will review security arrangements, coordination, SOP implementation, and response before, during, and after the attack.
The committee has full authority to summon records, question officers, record statements, inspect the site, and engage experts. It will recommend action against any officials found negligent.
Assistant CM Shahid Rind said the panel will propose immediate, medium, and long-term security measures for Mangi Dam and other key installations, along with policy reforms to prevent future incidents.
The report is due within 15 days. Bugti made it clear that negligence in protecting public life and property will not be tolerated.
